Watch This Chevy Straight-Six Engine Get Rebuilt in 10 Minutes

hagerty has a knack for putting together some fantastic time-lapse engine rebuild videos, and its latest, featuring a 60-year-old chevy stovebolt straight-six, is no different.

this engine was pulled out of a 1960 chevrolet 3600 pickup truck that the hagerty team harvested from the woods this summer, in preparation for a full restoration. they actually got the engine running before it was extracted, but considering its rusty, unkept state, it's clear it needed some more . . . invasive attention.

so the team went all out on the motor, stripping it down completely before rejuvenating the block and head, adding a bunch of new components, and reusing others. they went as far as to paint the sections of the engine that will be visible once it's complete, making it look better than new.

the result is, unsurprisingly, impressive, but really, it's the process of the engine being restored that we enjoy most. as far as build videos go, this is one of the better ones out there.
