later this week, it isn’t just any rolls-royce phantom heading to auction; it's a bespoke red phantom, which will be unveiled at the art world's famous art basel event in miami beach on december 4. the highest bidder is invited to collaborate with artist mickalene thomas to create a custom wrap for the car. proceeds from the auction will go to the aids charity (red).

the exterior paint finish is, as one would expect of a rolls-royce, already exquisite, featuring five layers of meticulously hand-polished magma red paint capped off with actual crystal particles captured in the final layers for what rolls describes as "luxurious luminescence." inside, the phantom gets brilliant arctic white leather with mugello red highlights, a brighter shade of red.

there's a "red regatta sails" leather design across the "gallery," which is a space in the front fascia to display art, and rolls-royce's starlight headliner. both are in mugello red. wood veneers inside the phantom are hand-finished with six coats of lacquer.
