Nissan revealed a concept SUV in Detroit and — spoiler alert — it isn't officially tied in with "Star Wars." Meet the Xmotion — pronounced "cross motion" for some reason — Concept.

The Xmotion Concept is a glimpse into the future of Nissan's design language, including an especially aggressive take on the brand's signature "V-Motion" grille. Note: V-Motion is not pronounced "two-thirds of an upside-down triangle motion."

In true concept fashion, there are many extravagant features, including:

Laminated Tires

The tires on the Xmotion Concept are physically laminated onto the 21-inch wheels, making them one piece. Good luck replacing a worn tire on the cheap with that setup.

Landscape Interior

Nissan says the interior symbolizes the Japanese landscape as a nod to the automaker's  Japanese heritage while incorporating a host of advanced autonomous driving features and technologies.

Wooden Console

The center console features traditional Japanese wood joinery; the same technique is used to build temples and religious shrines.

Screens!

Seven digital screens are peppered throughout the interior, some of which can be controlled by gestures and eye movements.

Most of this stuff won't make it into any production Nissans in the near future, but the concept gives us a look at where the brand may be heading.
