Next-Gen Ford Ranger Will Debut November 24
  • ford europe will unveil the next-generation ranger mid-size pickup on november 24 on its youtube channel.
  • we should learn about the u.s. specs shortly after.
  • we expect the same turbocharged four-cylinder engine as the current model.

ford will soon reveal the next-gen ranger mid-size pickup in europe on november 24, indicating what the new version will offer when it's revealed for the u.s. shortly after. while ford took lots of time to prepare the global ranger for its u.s. debut in 2019 with the previous generation, we expect that there will be less of a delay this time around. the new ranger will slot in between the new maverick and f-150 pickups in ford's truck lineup—and we could finally get a high-performance ranger raptor model, too.

from spy photos and teasers we can tell that the new ranger will have similar proportions as the current model with a grille that seems to be a mashup of the maverick's and the f-150's. like before, it'll be available in both extended and crew-cab configurations. versions seen in various teasers show a roll bar in the truck's bed for mounting accessories such as lights.

we expect the u.s. version of the new ranger to use the same turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine as the current model. it produces 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. that engine is rated to tow up to 7500 pounds in the current model and is epa rated at 23 mpg combined. the ranger raptor may use a more powerful turbocharged v-6.

look for more information on the 2023 ford ranger soon, and we'll have all the details here when the new model makes its debut at the end of the month. we reached out to ford to see when the u.s. version will make its debut and will update this story when we learn more.
