lincoln's mkx gets a refresh for 2019 with new styling, a new name — nautilus — and a new price. when the 2019 nautilus goes on sale, it'll start at $41,335 with destination, slightly higher than the mkx's $39,960 base price, but lower than competitors like the cadillac xt5 and lexus rx 350.
the new nautilus borrows a lot of its styling from the mkc, but slots above the compact suv in size and price. the base price gets you the entry trim with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 245 horsepower that replaces the mkx's standard a 303-hp, 3.7-liter v-6.
standard safety and convenience goodies include a hands-free foot-activated power tailgate, 4g wi-fi hot spot capability, remote start, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and blind spot detection. the sync 3 multimedia system with apple carplay and android auto are also standard, as is a 12.3-inch virtual gauge display with configurable information.
a turbo 2.7-liter v-6, which makes 335 hp, is optional for an extra $2,070; all-wheel drive adds another $2,495. other options include a panoramic moonroof, and heated and cooled seats with 22-way adjustment, similar to the lincoln navigator's setup.
the nautilus range tops out with the black label trim, which starts at $57,890 and adds opulent extras like venetian leather seats with embroidered headrests, a revel ultima audio system with 19 speakers and hd radio as well as model-specific exterior styling details.
interior color themes include chalet (silver and gray), gala (red) and thoroughbred (brown). a total of six standard exterior color options are available, including infinite black, magnetic gray, ingot silver, blue diamond and ochre brown. burgundy velvet, ruby red, white platinum, ceramic pearl, ice mocha and rhapsody blue add $695; chroma elite copper is available only with the black label trim and adds an extra $1,750 to the price.
