a car and driver reader asked us to help him find a fun-to-drive car for under $5000. he gave us some suggestions: a mazda miata, a honda cr-z, or a subaru brz. we didn't find any of his suggestions in the latest episode of window shop with us, but we did find some rather special enthusiast finds for under five large.
the challenge was quite difficult. we were able to find plenty of used bmws, hondas, and porsche boxsters. but finding a good, reliable, and fun-to-drive car that we'd actually pull the trigger on was hard. we hope this will help make our readers' searches easier, something we didn't quite do last week when we helped c/d testing director dave vanderwerp find a replacement for his 1991 acura nsx.
