approximately 863,000 model-year 2011-14 chrysler 200 sedans, model-year 2011-14 dodge avenger sedans, model-year 2011-12 dodge caliber hatchbacks, model-year 2011-16 dodge journey suvs, and model-year 2011-16 jeep compass and patriot suvs

the problem: an issue with the catalytic converter could adversely affect the vehicle's emissions and, therefore, pollutants released into the air.

the fix: dealers will replace components in the catalytic converter for free.

what owners should do: chrysler, dodge and jeep parent fiat chrysler automobiles did not immediately announce an owner-notification schedule, but the epa said that notifications will be scheduled in four phases throughout 2019. owners can call the automaker at 800-853-1403, the national highway traffic safety administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
