- mazda has announced details for the 2022 cx-30 crossover, which starts at $23,425.
- it now comes standard with all-wheel drive, which was previously a $1350 option on most models.
- mazda says the cx-30 will be on sale in the u.s. starting in february.
mazda is making all-wheel drive standard on the 2022 cx-30 but hasn't raised the base price much. the subcompact crossover now starts at $23,425, which is $150 more than the 2021 cx-30 fwd's base price but $1200 cheaper than the comparable 2021 cx-30 2.5 s awd. the more powerful 2.5 turbo remains available, starting at $31,425, while the naturally aspirated 2.5 s is also available in select, preferred, and premium trims. a carbon edition trim is new for 2022, starting at $29,515.
the cx-30 carbon edition features the same color combination as we've seen on other mazda models, with a polymetal grey exterior and a red leather interior. it also comes with 18-inch black wheels and black side mirrors. it features the same equipment as the cx-30 2.5 s preferred and has the same 186-hp 2.5-liter inline-four engine as all 2.5 s models. the optional turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four has 250 horsepower. in our testing, it got to 60 mph in a swift 5.6 seconds, while the nonturbo model did the deed in 7.6 seconds.
mazda has also added a new color called platinum quartz metallic, which is a no-cost color option. polymetal grey and snowflake white remain $395 extra, while the soul red and machine grey hues cost $595 extra. roof rails are newly standard on the 2.5 s select trim level.
2022 cx-30 models will start arriving at u.s. dealerships starting in february.
