ford announced that the company was going to bring back the famous bronco name way back in 2017, and before the coronavirus pandemic struck, the new bronco was set to debut in the spring of 2020. the bronco will go up against the popular jeep wrangler, and like its competitor, it will have boxy styling, high ground clearance, removable doors and roof, and a rear-mounted spare tire. we also know that it'll have circular led running lights and the bronco nameplate across the grille.
we expect the bronco's base engine to be a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder, with a twin-turbo 2.7-liter v-6 as an option. however, there's no doubt that ford could offer an even more powerful engine for, let's say, an even more capable raptor variant. there's also word that there will be a manual-transmission option, something the jeep wrangler and gladiator both offer.
