  • Ram's 1500 and Heavy Duty pickups both receive special blackout editions, a time-honored tradition for full-size trucks.
  • Dealers will get the Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition later this month and the HD Night Edition trucks by the end of the year.
  • The Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition is priced just under $54,000, while the heavy-duty trucks with the Night Edition start in the high $30,000s.

Ram, in what has become a tradition for full-size pickups, has chosen a blackout package to dress up 2020 Ram 1500 and HD models with a monochromatic appearance. These trucks made their debuts during the Texas State Fair today.

Unlike the Ram 1500 Night Edition that was announced earlier this month—which, despite its name, comes in colors including red and white—the Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition goes dark and monochomatic for its higher-trim pickup. Black accents, badging and tow hooks, plus 22-inch black wheels are all part of the package. It's available on a Ram with any of the drivetrain choices, including the diesel. The Black Edition is also distinguished by its vented sport performance hood, similar to the one on the Ram 1500 Rebel.

The 2020 Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition is priced at $53,690 and is expected to reach dealers by the end of this month.

The heavy-duty Ram Night Edition receives the same dark treatment, offering black badging and grille, dark bezels for the head- and taillights, and black 20-inch wheels. Shoppers looking for dual-rear-wheel models can also choose a Night Edition; it comes with black 17-inch wheels with machined pockets. However, the package is only available on Ram 2500 and 3500 Big Horn and Laramie crew-cab models. The HD editions will go on sale later this year with a starting price of $37,995.
