update 9/5/19: pricing for the 2020 lexus rx350 starts at $45,175, a $330 increase from last year. the hybrid rx450h goes up $505 to a starting price of $47,775, while the three-row rx l models are slightly cheaper than before, starting at $48,325 for the rx350l and $51,485 for the rx450hl. we have updated our story accordingly.
lexus is changing the rx crossover's looks for 2020—but yes, the polarizing spindle grille and aggressive creases remain. it looks much the same as before, only with the new headlights and taillights and a few sharpened elements in the front and rear fascias that make it a bit more modern-looking. there are also some changes for the suspension tuning and tweaks to the interior, including to the infotainment system, and a few new connectivity features.
in addition to the finicky remote touch pad on the center console, the standard 8.0-inch display screen is now a touchscreen, which should help make things a bit more intuitive. this will also better integrate with the new-for-2020 apple carplay and android auto smartphone connectivity. the optional 12.3-inch screen is also now a touchscreen.
the two available powertrains are the same: a 3.5-liter v-6 in the rx350 and a hybrid system in the rx450h. both versions continue to offer a standard five-seat configuration and an rx l model with a third row of seats. there are some chassis updates that aim to improve handling, including stiffer anti-roll bars, upgraded dampers, and additional rigidity in the car's structure.
the optional f sport package is now split into two versions: one focuses just on appearance tweaks, and another has performance upgrades such as a cold-air intake, fake engine sounds, and different steering tuning. both of these f sport models will have adaptive dampers.
lexus says the 2020 rx models will go on sale this fall, and pricing starts at $45,175 for the rx350 and $47,775 for the rx450h.
