kia's new 2020 telluride is the automaker's biggest suv, and not surprisingly, it has some of the lineup's smallest numbers when it comes to fuel economy — though it is rated a couple of mpg better than some competitors. the new three-row suv is epa rated at 20/26/23 city/highway/combined mpg with front-wheel drive.
the telluride's sole used engine is a 291-horsepower, 3.8-liter v-6 used engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. it's offered with front- or all-wheel drive and in lx, ex, s and sx trim levels. with awd, it's epa-rated at 19/24/21 mpg.
that's competitive with several other three-row suvs. in base awd trim, the honda pilot is rated at 18/26/21 mpg, and an awd v-6 version of the chevrolet traverse is rated at 17/25/20 mpg. see how those models compare here.
the 2020 kia telluride goes on sale later this year. it'll start at $32,735 for a base lx, front-wheel-drive model, and $34,735 with all-wheel drive; all prices include destination. we look forward to bringing you our driving impressions of the telluride once we get in one.
