subaru's 2019 brz rear-drive sports coupe gets updated media tech, a new series.gray limited-edition model and a $225 price bump to start at $26,680, including a destination charge that's increased to $885.
the brz 2+2 coupe will continue to be offered in premium (which is actually the base) and limited trim levels, along with the series.gray model based on the limited that will be limited to 250 copies. the 2018 ts model does not continue. all brz models are powered by a 205-horsepower (200 hp with the automatic), subaru boxer four-cylinder used engine . the premium has a six-speed manual, while the limited offers the manual or a six-speed automatic. the series.gray edition also will be manual only.
the limited models start at $29,530 with the manual and $30,630 with the automatic, both also up $225 from 2018. the series.gray edition will start at $31,025. all prices include destination.
all 2019 models now have a pair of usb ports in the dash, a backup camera and welcome lighting that comes on when you approach or get out of the brz. the limited model gets a new 7-inch touchscreen system for multimedia and navigation that's capable of over-the-air updates and includes voice control, subaru's used engine ering/starlink.html">starlink connectivity and apple carplay and android auto integration. the premium gets a more limited 6.2-inch starlink system.
the series.gray edition comes only in a cool gray khaki paint, and has its own 17-inch black wheels and black mirror caps. inside the black-upholstered cabin, it also gets contrast red stitching throughout, including on the door panels, center dash, shifter boot and parking-brake lever. it's otherwise basically a limited model with the performance package that is an $1,195 option on the limited manual-transmission models. the package includes brembo brakes, sportier sachs shock absorbers and 17-inch black wheels.
the brz is a sibling of toyota's 86 sports coupe, which will start at $27,375 for 2019 with destination for the base model.
