lexus has announced a limited-edition run of 1,000 model-year 2019 lexus nx 300 f sport models dubbed the black line edition, arriving in dealerships sometime in february. the black line edition takes either a front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive nx 300 f sport and adds ... a premium stereo, unique seats and upgraded wheels. that can't be everything, right?

almost! the unique seats are made of nuluxe faux leather and are trimmed in black and white, which carries over to the floormats and "key glove," which is the leather pouch that holds your key fob. (laugh all you want, but porsche charges hundreds of dollars to get key fobs painted to match your car.)

the premium stereo system is a 14-speaker mark levinson unit and is the first time it has been offered in the nx. a 10.3-inch multimedia display is controlled by one of automotive journalists' least favorite things, the remote touch interface. outside, there are carbon-fiber-esque graphics running between the wheels and 19-inch six-spoke wheels that are a nearly $4,000 option on non-black line edition nx 300 f sports.

total price for the black line edition models will be either $49,600 for fwd versions or $51,000 with awd; both prices include a $1,025 destination charge. for comparison's sake, regular nx 300 f sport models start around $40,000 or $41,000 depending on drivetrain.
