2018 Ford Expedition: Recall Alert

2018 Ford Expedition: Recall Alert
2018 Ford Expedition

Vehicles Affected: Approximately 460 model-year 2018 Ford Expedition SUVs manufactured at the Kentucky Truck Plant from Sept. 12 to Oct. 31, 2017

The Problem: An incorrectly located latch may allow the second-row outboard seats to be positioned forward of the intended position, which could result in improper occupant positioning. Additionally, these seats may have an improperly installed bolt, which could result in inadequate seat retention. Both increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Ford said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with the issue.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect the second-row outboard seats for proper seat adjustment travel and proper installation of the bolt attaching the seatback to the seat base. They will also replace the seat frame assembly and remove and properly reinstall the bolt, as necessary, for free.

What Owners Should Do: Ford did not immediately announce an owner-notification schedule. Owners can call the automaker at 866-436-7332 or go to www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
