Vehicles Affected: Approximately 32,000 model-year 2014-18 BMW I3 electric and hybrid vehicles 

The Problem: The driver's seating position could put unbelted, smaller drivers at a higher risk of neck injury in a front-end collision.   

The Fix: BMW is currently developing a remedy for this recall. 

What Owners Should Do: BMW will begin notifying owners Jan. 8, 2018. Owners can call the automaker at 855-269-3361, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov/ to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
