approximately 6,600 model-year 2010-11 bmw 335d luxury sedans equipped with diesel used engine

the problem: the connection of the positive battery cable at the fuse box terminal may degrade over time, possibly resulting in an intermittent loss of electrical power, which could cause the vehicle to stall unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.

the fix: dealers will replace the positive battery cable connector and secure it with an improved method for free.

what owners should do: bmw will begin notifying owners july 6. owners can call the automaker at 800-525-7417, the national highway traffic safety administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4263 or go to www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
