Volvo Prices Stylish 2019 V60 for Wagon Fans
2019 volvo v60

volvo has released pricing for the redesigned 2019 v60 mid-size luxury wagon, the long-roof car for fans of wagons with style and a tidy size (which includes me). due on sale early in 2019, the wagon will start at $39,895 (all prices include a $995 destination fee) for the base momentum model, though if you start checking option packages, the price can climb rapidly. using volvo's online configurator, i built a top-trim-level fusion red metallic v60 inscription with everything that would be in my letter to santa, and ended up at $61,080.

the base price is $650 more than the starter version of the 2018 model. but the 2019 offers most of the style and interior design of the new full-size v90 flagship wagon with a smaller, more agile footprint and still-practical people and cargo space. and unlike the v90, it should be more available in the u.s., where the larger vehicle is by special order only. the wagon joins the s60 sedan and xc60 suv in the middle of the volvo lineup, and will be joined eventually by a cross country version that sits a bit higher and sports suv-like lower-body cladding. that might sell better in the u.s., but unless you insist on an suv wannabe, the wagon will offer most of the capability without what is sure to be a higher price tag.

the v60 wagon will offer three trim levels at launch — momentum, r-design and inscription — and the lower two trims will be available with the 250-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter t5 used engine and front-wheel drive, or the 316-hp, turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-liter t6 and all-wheel drive. both are mated to an eight-speed automatic. the inscription has the t6 powertrain standard.

the momentum will be start at $39,895 in t5 form or $44,395 with the t6 awd powertrain. the sportier r-design will start at $44,895 or $49,395, respectively. the top-of-the-line inscription will start at $50,395.

standard equipment on the base model includes a front collision system with automatic braking, led headlights, a panoramic moonroof and a woven-cloth upholstery is pitching as an eco-friendly alternative to leather. higher trim levels add fancier appointments; leather and more features are standard. the r-design also sets itself apart as the sporty one with black exterior trim and sport seats.

but even on the inscription, there are plenty of desirable options. my wish-list build of an inscription included:

  • advanced safety and driver assistance technology ($2,500)
  • adaptive suspension ($1,000)
  • a luxury seat package with massage ($2,200)
  • a premium 1,100-watt, 15-speaker bowers & wilkins sound system ($3,200)
