defining characteristics: so. much. cladding.

ridiculous features: did we mention the cladding?

chance of being mass-produced: this is a design study and not a future production vehicle, so despite how much it looks like a redesigned crosstrek, probably zero.

having earlier teased the viziv adrenaline concept in a darkened photo, subaru gave the concept its debut at the 2019 geneva international motor show. the viziv adrenaline concept is, as predicted, an suv with an aggressive roofline. but there was something else lurking in the shadows ...

cladding! oh man, so much cladding. nothing says off-road capability to subaru like slapping on some gray cladding. on the viziv adrenaline concept, practically the entirety of both front fenders are covered in the stuff. to heighten the sense of its off-road aspirations, the wheels and tires are aggressive, and even feature what look like old-school locking hubs at the center.

the roof is a different color from the body and has areas of exposed glass to let in additional light. according to subaru, the roof design helps to reinforce the structure of the vehicle. it's unclear if subaru means that it does so more than a traditional roof design, however.

while the viziv adrenaline concept looks like it could be the next-generation crosstrek, subaru says this is simply the first example of its new "bolder" design philosophy. as such, we haven't seen any interior images, nor is there any available information about its powertrain — but expect to see elements of the concept trickle down to future subarus.
