Customers interested in adding a third row to their Lexus RX 450h will now have some numbers to consider: The 2018 RX 450hL will start at $51,615 when it goes on sale this April, about $5,000 more than the two-row version of the 2018 RX 450h (all prices include a destination charge).

The RX 450hL gets power from a 3.5-liter V-6 gasoline Used Engine and two electric motors that produce 308 combined horsepower. The hybrid features a continuously variable automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. The non-hybrid version, the RX 350L, uses a 290-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 and an eight-speed automatic.

The price jump from the non-hybrid three-row RX 350L isn't as steep; that model starts at $48,665 with front-wheel drive; all-wheel drive is available for an additional $1,400.

Standards on the hybrid include leather-trimmed seats, second-row captain's chairs; driver seat, side mirror and steering wheel memory; and the Lexus Enform Safety Connect and Service Connect complimentary for the first 10 years of vehicle ownership.
