2019 Ford Edge Video Review
2019 Ford Edge

Ford updated its mid-size SUV, but the updates to the regular Edge aren't as exciting as the addition of the ST model for 2019. Both were revealed in Detroit ahead of the 2018 North American International Auto Show.

According to Ford, the refresh of the Edge took over two years, but it's hard to tell that by looking at it. Outside, it wears new headlights, bumpers and taillights, but it maintains the fenders, roof and door panels from the previous model. Inside, almost everything carries over for 2019.

Under the hood, the Edge gets a new turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder as the standard Used Engine ; it makes 250 horsepower and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The big news is the ST model, which replaces the Sport in the lineup and uses a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 that makes 335 hp. The model also gets a more aggressive color scheme, with blacked-out trim, grille and side sills. The grille also wears a sportier hexagonal pattern.

Inside, the ST model gets some more heavily bolstered seats and unique leather patterns with silver seat stitching, along with different sill plates, a unique gauge cluster and an ST-branded steering wheel.
