Vehicles Affected: Approximately 2,000 model-year 2018 Kia Sorento SUVs manufactured between Sept. 5 and Nov. 29, 2017

The Problem: The side curtain air bag inflator diffuser may detach from the inflator body during side curtain air bag deployment, increasing the risk of injury during a crash. Hyundai said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.

The Fix: Dealers will dealers will replace the driver and passenger side curtain air bags for free.

What Owners Should Do: Hyundai will begin notifying owners this month. Owners can call the automaker at 800-333-4542, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
